take a listen!

Nikki Hill is a woman of action. She’s smart as a whip, knows exactly what she wants and she’s not going to put up with anyone telling her otherwise.

Her attitude is purely punk, and her music combines blues, punk, rock and classic R&B. It’s a potent mixture and has made the North Carolina native one of the most intriguing and originals on the concert scene today. Since teaming up with her guitarist husband Matt Hill several years ago, she’s been thrilling audiences with her high-energy, take-no-prisoners brand of music.

Nikki is filled with attitude. Her shows feature raw power and soul dynamics from the early days of rock ‘n’ roll in a package that translates into a true American roots music adventure. Nikki has a striking presence on stage and since he grew up singing in church choirs, she understands how to target the soul of any song. She may draw on vintage female R&B singers such as LaVern Baker, Etta James and Ruth Brown, but she’s also paid close attention to Otis Redding and Solomon Burke.

Matt Hill, meanwhile, has established himself as a potent bandleader, wielding his guitar like a saber and stabbing deep into the heart of every song he tackles. These days he’s often complementing and dueling with San Diego guitarist Laura Chavez, the only woman ever to be nominated for guitarist of the year in the 40-year history of The Blues Foundation’s Blues Music Awards

Over the past six years, the band has gone from a relatively unknown act to one of the hottest tickets on the festival circuit. And, Nikki’s reputation just seems to be spreading.
